![]() They won't close until you mouse over and click on the little red button. What I was complaining about are the special windows that contain 'help' and 'spell check' and similar functions. Also, when a dialog option is 'destructive of a file' (e.g., 'Delete,' 'Don't Save'), the key combination is Command-Delete. I don't know about force-closing a window, but on Mac the pop-up dialog keyboard shortcuts are the same as Windows', only using Command instead of Alt. If you look at the Dock, you will still see a small dot. One way Mac OS X differs from Windows is that when you close the last window, the app itself stays open. The equivalent keyboard shortcut keys to open the Force Quit window on Mac is Command + Option + Esc. Unlike Windows, Mac computer doesn't use the typical Ctrl + Alt + Delete keyboard shortcut to force close a program.
